Our Missions & Goals
The Marine Life Research Foundation (MLRF) was founded in 2022 in Bar, Montenegro. The Marine Life Research Foundation is a non – profit organization founded in order of marine conservation and the marine organisms by conducting scientific research as well as educational programs in aim to raise public awareness on environmental protection.
By collection scientific data on marine species, with an emphasis on marine top predators in the Adriatic Sea and the Mediterranean basin, whose role in the marine ecosystem is of great importance, as well as conducting educational programs, which contains of involving citizens, we strive not only for the conservation of marine species, but also on the conservation of the entire marine ecosystem.
Besides, in order to achieve the aforementioned goals, we strive to establish cooperation with state institutions and non – governmental organisations, as well as by involving the public in the framework of educational programs. Scientific research on the protected species is conducted under permits issued by relevant authorities and state institutions following national legislation of the country where we operate.
